From "Black Tie to Blackeyed Peas" was written by Dr. Irving Victor, a native of Savannah and beloved doctor. He says in the preface of the book that "this book will be a great help and value to the occasional cook, as well as the seasoned chef. Savannah cuisine is unique, as the title implies." The book contains recipes for local seafood, as well as meat and poultry entrees, turnip greens, Savannah Red Rice and Hoppin' John. It has wonderful photos and anecdotes about historical sites and events of Savannah.
